OK so it looks like Cydia is giving up the ghost and having some major issues. So you may want to save your SHSH from APPLE directly instead of CYDIA (the default) go into Advanced options and UNCHECK the box that clearly says: "Request SHSH From Cydia" then click 'Apply Changes' then select your device then click 'Save SHSH'

Note to keep Cydia from trashing your saved SHSH I suggest changing the location you save to as well at this point.....

ApplespiderSep 16, 10:59 AMIt's easier if you order it and bring it with you. Since you have a US address, it should be reasonably easy to order to be sent there and then ask friend/family to bring it over or mail it. Trouble with mailing is that you do run the risk of hitting customs/excise although you should be able to claim it back since you're not a permanent resident.

In terms of what you'll need to use it over here, just a UK plug adaptor. If you have friends with an old iPod power adaptor, you can pull off the old plug part and stick it on your new Powerbook adaptor.

Would something like that work. I would like to do this because I physics engine I would like to use requires C++ and I would like to use this engine inside of a nice Cocoa app with all the interface stuff done in Objective-C.

He's saying that the iBook won't go to sleep as set in the Energy Saver preferences. It only goes to sleep when he closes the lid or chooses it from the menu.

As to fixing the problem, I don't know.

Any included copy of OS X only works with the model it came with. However, I think you can use the OS X server key on different hardware, you just need the retail disks.

You can disable the USB Overdrive drivers for specific devices and they will revert to the Apple default drivers.

Also try uninstalling and reinstalling.

Uninstalling the USB Overdrive

To uninstall the USB Overdrive, use the Uninstall USB Overdrive application that's located in the Utilities folder inside your Applications folder. If you deleted the uninstaller by mistake, you can reinstall the USB Overdrive (even if it's already installed) and then remove everything with the Uninstall application

Sweet, it has capabilities for me to manually tell the Nano to shut off.

I tell it to go ahead and update. It gives me an error saying I do not have permissions and links me to a page that doesn't even list that error. I'm using a 2010 MBP 13" base model if that makes any difference (running Snow Leopard).

I update itunes just in case it is that, still same error.

Why won't it update and what can I do to fix that?

SchroedingerMar 8, 07:43 PMThis won't work. iPods were designed specifically to keep you from doing this. If you sync with your friend's library you will get all his music, but if you then try to sync to your own library, itunes will erase the ipod and fill it with the music you already have.

If you are intent on doing this then just use a flash drive or external hard drive. An iPod won't work.

I don't have a SATA caddy so wonder if I can clone my existing drive to an external then clone it back with the new, blank drive installed in the machine...is this do-able?
