Death of actor Mark Baker

Mark Baker The actor, famous for her role in hit TV Globo as Foot in Jaca (2006) and The Favorite (2008), died at age 51 as a result of a heart attack in the city of Porto Alegre. The information was confirmed by officials of the Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana, who headed the institution since January 2011.

Born in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Baker moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1981, when he was 20 years old. There, he majored in theater arts by Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras. Since then, he acted in several plays - including the renowned Gerald Thomas - until, in 1991, returning to his State to work as a theater director.


In 2005, he returned to the state capital to work in the plot Opposite Lives, TV Record. Three years later, again at the Globe, made special appearance in the novel the favorite, in the role of Joselito Baraúna. The actor also joined the casts of Living Life, Workout and Caras e Bocas.
