MACRUSNov 11, 03:39 PMFrom what I've seen at the places I've been as an editor, the people who still have Avid are the ones that invested in it awhile ago and it's cheaper to maintain their current hardware. Though there are certainly desires to switch. I've also seen some places jump from Avid to Final Cut when doing complete system upgrades and ditching their old Power PC machines for Intel ones. Many places that are starting out are also going with Final Cut over anything else out there.

My Final Cut might not be 64 Bit, but it's doing just fine. Though our graphic designers have seen significant improvements in terms of render times going from After Effects CS4 to CS5, I think I can wait another 6 months and then be blown away by whatever improvement Apple makes to Final Cut.

Some have said it is most likely to happen early 2012. although Jobs himself has said early 2011. but again like some say. coming from him (steve), early 2011 could very well mean from January to june.

Seriously, VZ stocks actually had a higher yield because of the merging than ATT.
The deal will pass, you know why? It actually somehow benefits more Verizon rather than ATT. Also, ATT is a private company, they have all the right to acquire another company.
Now if ATT acquired VZ (hahah which might be never) that would cause a monopoly but seriously monopolies arent that bad.
Everyone that lives in the "free world" is so entrenched in the idea that monopolies have the right to blow prices out of the water but they cant... and it is a fact.
Anyways, ATT will spend more money trying to merge differences between staff and other stuff, deciding how to merge the different cultures (since ones a German the other is American), and spending up to 8 billion dollars just in switching to the Tmobile towers. (good luck with that)
Verizon could equal the size of AT Tmobile if 1/8 people switched out from the merge. Which probably 1/16 will. I mean, why wouldnt they?
Only reason why ATT has managed to live for the past 3 years is because of the iphone.
In conclusion: ATT sucked, sucks, and will suck.

iPhone4youApr 16, 06:21 PMToday I got the Spek Pixelskin HD cover for my iPhone 4. In short usage I noticed two issues. One the power/sleep switch is very hard to press and the case is very difficult to take off the phone. Has anyone else with this case encountered these problems? Is there a fix?

There could be cheaper plug-ins, search for autotune or something.

Or i suppose you could copy the notes you need to change to a separate track and change the pitch of the track... now thats thinking outside the box ey..

If they will, I would start checking power supply lead voltages, you could be experiencing a power supply failure causing an undervoltage occurrence to the cards, thus causing a kernel panic.

He didn't buy them from OWC and they also don't support the card near as well as the manufacturer even if he did buy it there.

A few hard drives with stock video is never going to be too much power for a 400 watt PSU. Even with the full 6 drives he wants to use thats only maybe 75-90 watts. The dual 867 card would use maybe 55 watts tops. All thats left is the stock geforce 4 MX, optical drive and the system fans which wouldn't add up to anymore than maybe 120 watts. 90+55+120=265 watts. Because there were more powerful video upgrades out at the time of the MDD they allowed an extra 150 watts or so for power hungry cards. ie. 9800 pro and Geforce 7800.

mikeschmeeeMay 5, 10:49 PMThe old guys in the second video are a little mistaken. The "432" badge on the side of the Fairlady has nothing to do with cubic inches. In fact, they were only 2.0L engines (122ci). The "Fairlady Z 432" was simply a special, limited version of the normal Fairlady. The 432 number stood for the "4 valve, 3 carb, 2 cam" specs of the 6-cylinder engine. This is similar to what Oldsmobile did with the 60's 442, which stood for "4-barrel carb, 4-speed trans, dual exhaust". The Z in the video has a more modern RB25 Skyline engine in it, whereas the original Z 432 came with the then-current Skyline S20 2.0L, 6-cylinder engine.

lol I know eh! I didn't want to post that video but I just like how clean that Fairlady looks. I just want that video too. I want to see the Z they were taking about near the end with some crazy horses.

Nah, it's probably just a mistake on apple's part (after all, i don't think this website has been officially released yet since we can't find links to it). I say that it is not photoshopped because i'm currently logged into .mac through the cited webpage. So yeah, it's real, otherwise i wouldn't be logged into .mac at the top.

I can't imagine this being anywhere as great as Photoshop on a real computer anytime soon, but the iPad should be able to run something like Photoshop 7 or CS without any problems thanks to the CPU power and RAM it has. If they just made it touch sensitive somehow, or added stylus or external tablet support somehow, that would be awesome.

I doubt there really is the need for a totally rewritten app here, as it will lack 99% of the good features in Photoshop (Liquify, robust Type tool, Curves, etc...).

I love life in the melting pot, it's the one thing I really miss about living in London, there's just a degree of culture clash that you don't get outside of the capital.

It won't be too long until the baby boomers start dying off, I don't think this "elderly issue" is all that much of one, for the most part they can take care of themselves, population may be slowing down but it's not crashing.
